New Amex statement credits

Not on my login page "Make a Payment". All fields for the credit card, card details etc are "pinked" but not the payment amount. I might try an over the phone payment for a one month amount in 9 nearly equal amounts.

It was the page before entering CC details that I could change the amount. When I first saw it, it didn't look like it could be changed, which might be the case for you as well? We pay automatically as well and a friend of mine who works for HCF said you could pay any amount online or over the phone which would give you extra days. If the amount is less than what one day costs, it will not get you anything. Might as well pay one day worth :p

Re HCF cash back deal.

I don't have a health insurance policy with HCF and I've just checked and my current provider is cheaper than HCF, so there's no point in switching.

But I'm thinking this is possible. Can anyone see a problem with my logic? Ethics may be a separate matter.

1) Join HCF health insurance cover.
2) Make 3 x $1 payments with each of my 10 AMEX cards.
3) Wait for cash back and collect $1000. Making $970 profit - minus the cheapest cost of 1 months health insurance (which appears to be $2.80 per week for a singles extra cover).
4) Wait a month and cancel the cover.

Only concern I see is..
when you join HCF - don't they ask you for a cancellation certificate from your current health fund?
then you have to go through with cancellation and again in a month time from HCF..

this is my understanding - can someone confirm?

Thank you Finale, that worked like clockwork on 3 cards. :)

Money would be coming from HCF, DrRalph. It's their marketing money to drive new membership. But this one is going viral on OzB. Not sure they'll honour it.

I was able to sign up my NAB Amex on Amexconnect for the HCF offer but I do not appear to be able to get a link for my Platinum Edge anywhere (through Amexconnect or through My Account). I put through 3x$1 payments online with the NAB Amex and triggered the success email.

It would be nice to get the Plat Edge signed up for another $100.

same - could register for NAB Amex but not PlatEdge. Suspect that it was a semi-targetted offer, or, the offer allocation for Amex issued cards has been exhausted

Cellarmasters are always having $50 off coupon codes when you spend $120. So combine with this and you can effectively get $170 of wine for $70 by ordering $170 of wine, using coupon code and paying with Amex.

The 50YELLOW code has been canned. No others that I know of for $50 available.

Filled up at BP Fairfield today corner of Hamilton and Sackville. They had regular unleaded at 1.089 when all over Sydney price was over 1.23. They took Amex but with 2.5% surcharge. I filled 52L so with the $10 back got it for 0.923. No velocity though so I could not double dip. Got the Amex BP email instantly.

Thanks Prozac. Regarding the cellarmasters deal, do cellarmasters only sell wine. I checked their websites and could not find anything else other than wines...

Other businesses?

Yes. Businesses other than Harris Farm.

You may not be aware that some businesses often sell gift vouchers for other businesses.

For example, at Woolworths you can buy a gift voucher for JB HI FI.

You asked 'do they sell gifts cards?'

I asked whether you meant for themselves or for other businesses as your posting was ambiguous.

I'd certainly be interested in knowing if they sell for other businesses as this will make using my AMEX cash backs a lot easier.

Thanks View Profile: Dr Ralph - The Australian Frequent Flyer Online Community for clarifying..
I did mean other businesses other than Harris Farm.
Thanks
Do you know if they stock Visa GC?

You should have asked for a temporary card. You then get 72 hours to log into your Velocity account and register it to get the points. Then you just leave it in your car for future use.

That's what I have done and the points are rolling in. It's a bit old school, though, having to swipe a card.

I use the Stocard app on my phone to store most of my loyalty cards and then just scan my phone.

I've just registered my 6 Amex cards for the Harris farm offer. Do they allow you to split payment at checkout or just split up the shopping basket yourself?
