New Amex statement credits

Woke up and went to the registration page I already had loaded (with the countdown timer) only to see it say "registration capped". Was spewing until I reloaded it and it was fine. Registered 10 cards no problem. Now off to load up some GoCards before sending them in for a cash refund. :D

Is there a list of Amex-friendly Go-card merchants?

So out of curiosity and since it s my first time
What's everyone using their small shop for. Admittedly I'm struggling to find too many merchants.

I'm thinking
- chemist's to buy $20 worth of meds
- casual restaurants where I can eat for $20 per person

I go to a little butcher that sells ripper bacon and snags and stock up. We also eat a lot of mangoes this month.

Just poke around on the shop small map for some inspiration. Split payments are the "fun" part.

Quite a few I get 'gift cards' / credit notes to the value of the quantity of cc ($20 each) I have and then spend the gc later. I am doing this with a local restaurant, a bakery and the pub - restaurant, and others as I think of it.

Perils of only having the one card. But I got my 100,000 credited today so all is happy.

It's quite nice being in Melbourne, no shortage of burger joints. Two for the price of one suits for November ;)

I haven't looked closely at the list of merchants yet but there should be a few newsagents around.

EDIT: I just put "news" and Brisbane city into the search and several options come up. Whether they actually take AMEX will be determined on Thursday.

Nost so fast ..... it doesn't start until tomorrow!
Yup! I will need a spreadsheet to manage this across all our cards :)...in some ways, I'm glad it is only 5 per card, not the previous 10!! As we are going OS on Nov 20, we only have 19 days to use up this offer :(

In my area in Sydney at least a lot less vendors than previous. Most of the small cafes are gone, it is more the mid-high priced restaurants on the list

Edit -- Ah they appear once I zoom in a bit closer

Looking at the map, I see some little dots and some large numbers for the merchants. So, are only certain shops taking part, or how does it work with the dots / numbers? I have played safe and just gone with the numbered merchants in the past.

I have found quite a few bars, pubs and bottle shops on the list.
It seems 8bit burger is off the list.

I use it for OPAL top-ups, chemists, cafes and restaurants. There are a few cafes where we eat regularly where I usually pick up the whole bill but in November I tend to feel pretty stingy and insist on paying the bill off in $20 chunks.

I use quite a few pharmacies during Shop Small, and would reach $20 stocking up on their specials such as toilet paper, soaps, cleaning products, toothpaste etc and buying a couple of non-prescription items if they were on special as well - or at least I used to. Unfortunately there seem to be far fewer participating this year according to the map. One of our big shopping centres has 3 Wizard pharmacies, all of whom were part of Shop Small in previous years, but not this time, and many others have gone MIA as well.

Thanks everyone. It seems everyone is also looking at pharmacies. :)
I've also found a few bottle shops which are no doubt overpriced but might make it slightly cheaper.
I've also found a few butchers as well.
Couldn't find any post offices
