I just realised I have 15,122 miles expiring with 24hrs. I've never used UA miles before.

Tried booking an AU domestic, but presents zero options.

I don't need a flight outside AU so looking at other options.

  • Tried buying merchandise, but can't because delivery only to USA.
  • Tried buying iTunes card, but fails with error saying call customer support.
  • Tried buying Ebay gift card but won't let me enter an address outside USA.
Any ideas?

Can you buy 1,000 miles to extend the validity?

Otherwise, it costs 15,000 miles to fly Y one-way from anywhere in the Pacific Islands (Fiji, Cook Islands, etc.) to Japan (via Australia).

Australia to New Zealand is 17,500 miles but domestic NZ flights are only 8,000 miles.

I realise you said you don't need a flight outside Australia, but given there are zero domestic redemptions available with United just giving you some other ideas...

Wow.

AFF never ceases to amaze with friendly help. Thankyou all.

The cost of small quantities of points is quite high with a minimum purchase of 2000 miles.

FYI:
  • I tried to send a Travel Magazine subscription to a couple of friends in California but the site just hangs.
  • I ended up donating to Make A Wish Foundation

Thanks again everyone. Much Appreciated.

For future reference, an e-Rewards account is a handy way to keep UA MP points alive.
