Need to arrive at SIN (from Sydney) by 8.30pm

I am taking advantage of the AA elite flyer promotion, arriving at LAX on AA flights numbers ex SIN (NRT-JFK). Only one problem, looking for a convenient connecting flight ex SYD, most one world flights arrive just a little too lake to connect.

Same on the way back, arrive at SIN 12.35am and will miss any one world connecting flights. I really do not want to wait at SIN 20 hours, any ideas, I know the LCC Scoot can get me there at a convenient time there and back, just wondering if there are any other choices. Would like to take BA (double AA points as AA plat) but far too long to wait at SIN.

Any ideas.

Off the top of my head, connecting through PER would be best bet for sticking with one world. Or JQ via MEL. Other than that SQ has a couple of services that would get in before then.

will look for flight departing SIN-SYD after 12.30am

just found an SYD-ADL-SIN flight which arrives at a good time for the same price with BA flight numbers,
leaves SYD 7.10am and arrives SIN 7.35pm
unfortunately leaves SIN-SYD earlier than my arrival NRT-SIN on way back

You mean QF81 (SYD-ADL-SIN) that departs at 1205 from the SYD int terminal meaning F lounge access, with a 1hr 15min transit in ADL?

You could always spend a day in Singapore... It's not *that* bad. There is more than enough to see or do in a day.

Otherwise there is a few other options to get to SIN at different times. JQ 7 ex-MEL can be okay for QF mileage runners when there is a good sale (adding the bundle). Otherwise EY have an odd-o-clock flight ex-BNE.

However SQ are probably the best option as you can fly direct, and shorten your connection time.

The BNE-SIN flight from memory arrives ~7:40pm so may well be your best choice otherwise the PER-SIN arrives mid-afternoon.

On the way back you do not have enough time to connect to the CX SIN-HKG flight departing 1:05am. Again from memory there is a CX flight SIN-HKG at 8:00am that will give ~7-8 hours transit in HKG until the evening flight back to SYD. A shame MH are not quite Oneworld yet.

It's a tag flight, so no need to worry about the MCT...

I'd imagine the MCT in SIN would be less then 75 minutes.

However, being OW to OW, the OP should be able to check-in in SYD.

All on time, should be no worries.
