Need an explanation of SQ Fares

I was doing a search on www.bestflights.com.au for an itinerary on SIA leaving SYD on Jun 19 going to Manila. Then on Jun 22 fly from Manila to S'pore and then finally flying back on Jun 25.

I found 2 fares one with a ref of SQ163-02 "ASIA TIER 3 EX EAST COAST" for $1124 and the other with a ref of SQ162-02 "ASIA TIER 2 EX EAST COAST" with a fare of $177. I'm just a little confused as to what the actual differences are apart from the cost.

Reading the rules for the cheaper fare, under "RESERVATION" it said:

SQ: M CLASS
MI: B CLASS RETURN

For the other fare it says:

SQ/MI: B CLASS

Is there someone who can unravel the mystery for me and explain what the difference in fare cost really means?

Cssaus, who cares about the differences - jump on the $177 fare

Ok then. Well assuming that it should be $1,77*, then B means full fare ecomony class, while M means discount economy class. For upgrade coupon usage and operational upgrades, this difference in fare type can be important. Also the fare types determine mileage earned. Therefore the SQ/ MI B class ticket refers to full fare economy on all flights (with greater upgrade potential than a discount economy ticket and perhaps more mileage - please check SQ).

I think MI refers to additional legs/ add-ons to the return ticket. Though perhaps someone else can confirm and/or correct this and explain what MI means...

Go to the Qantas website or Qantim for more information on SQ flights.

MI is SilkAir, owned by SQ but you wont get miles unless crediting to Kris Flyer.

Now Silk Air dont fly to Manila (but do to Cebu & Davao in the Philippines), so either way you fly on SQ.
