Hi,

I've got a couple of questions that I need your expert assistance on and hopefully help me make the right decisions. :) Sorry, this is a bit of a long one.

I'm planning to do a RTW trip next year for a year using 1W. I'm debating whether to get an AA or QF frequent flyer as I'd rather just maintain 1 freq flyer card for 1W. Some questions I'd like to ask are:
1. If I purchase the RTW ticket, will the miles be credited as 1-1 or will it be less as it's a "discounted" fare type?
2. Reading the threads in the forum, I see that I can enrol in AA and do the challenge to get the platinum status. Or, do you guys think I'll be able to earn the QF plat status anyway if I do the RTW? My planned route is: MEL-MNL-LHR-NYC//LAX-HNL-SYD-DRW and also will be doing MEL-AUK//WLG-MEL this Dec. The QF freq flyer program is a bit more confusing for me now that they've changed it.

With regards to the credit card options, I've read here that the best one for travelling is Wizard so I'll probably go for that. However, for earning QF points and getting travel insurance, I'm debating between Citibank Gold or ANZ FF Platinum. From what I've read so far, the main difference is: CB's annual fee is $119 while ANZ is $195. Travel insurance for CB is good for max of 3 months while ANZ is 6 months. Not familiar with the OS transaction fees but maybe you guys can shed some light on which one's better.

THanks in advance for your help on this!
