Hi all,

Mrs Outbackowner and I snapped up one of the cheap J fares to SFO for next month and have 5 nights booked downtown and will head off in a hire car to the Napa Valley for 2 or 3 nights. Can anyone advise us where to stay, we have been given Hilton Diamond via status match and somewhere within walking distance from restaurants etc as we will be trying out the local wines no doubt.
And where is the best discount shopping malls in the SFO area as SWMBO will want to shop shop shop....I think you know what I mean.
Thanks.

There's no Hilton in the NAPA, there's one in Sonoma area, but thats quite a drive from NAPA. Google is your friend for all of your questions

I stayed at the Embassy Suites, NAPA, for a couple of nights several years ago. Slightly quirky with a bit of character, I thought, but suited the purpose. Definitely nothing wrong with it. I can't recall the diamond benefits, as everyone gets (a good) breakfast, including made to order omelettes. There are reviews on TripAdvisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Hote..._Napa_Valley-Napa_Napa_Valley_California.html

Also, a Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn in the area. They all have good reviews.

Thanks for your help, we decided on staying in Napa town and have booked at the Best Western which is No 1 on Trip Advisor for Napa. Have 2 days spare at the end for shopping no doubt. Will look at a Hilton in SFO for those nights and hopefully get a late check out for our QF flight home.

I wouldn't worry about the malls, just go to Union Square for shopping. The 4 story shoe shop on Powell St should help the relationship.

Do the Napa Valley Wine train........The Napa Valley Wine Train they have some accommodation suggestions as well.
