My wife and I are heading back to Fiji in March, but I remember last time we departed from there, (18 months ago), the Departure J Check In was quick, but, the process through the security check was a nightmare.
Does anybody know if it has improved, we are on the 9.00am Flight back to Sydney, and, has the Lounge been upgraded.

Last flew this route 4 times last year. Check in for J was usually quick but the lines for emigration and security can be long. However I usually check in about 7.30 and never have any problems getting to the Lounge and having toast and Vegemite before the flight departs.

Be warned that they often check size and weight of carry on luggage as you stand in line to enter security. For some strange reason when I say it's got my computer in it they don't bother to weigh it!

I haven't traveled since they were due to start refurbishment.

Due to lounge refurbishment works, the Air Pacific Tabua Lounge in Nadi will be closed from 14 November and due for completion late January 2009. Eligible Qantas customers including Gold and Platinum Frequent Flyers and customers travelling in Business Class on QF/FJ codeshare flights will be invited to use temporary lounges located near the current Tabua Lounge.

I was there 2 weeks ago and had the same thing, was thinking of weighing it but changed his mind after I said it had my laptop in it :confused::confused:

The lounge has now been rufurbed.

The flights werent that full so security wasnt an issue and even in March I wouldn't expect it would be much hassle..we got straight through.
