Can anyone explain why virgin website doesn't aĺlow multi city bookings. I regularly as I assume others need to fly multi stops such as to Sydney then melbourne then adelaide then back to Gold coast. But virgin has you do it with buying all one way fares. I have called and spoken to staff at lounges and even they are surprised.

This sh!ts us to tears, we just booked our Christmas "visit everyone in one week" multistop trip and got done for $120 in credit card surcharges. We'll get it back out of them during Lounge visits.

The one thing that should have been learnt from Sabres introduction is the absolute contempt Virgin have for self service customers. This is just part of that.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Because VA for some reason believed the shiny presentations from Sabre without actually questioning any of it..?

Easily fixed using a gift card

Do it over the phone and ask them the waive the assistance fee as it cannot be done online. It quite often works.

Thats what I did - the conversation started with "because your website cannot do this I am not paying for the assitance fee for the following bookings - xx_ to YYY to ZZZ back to xx_" ( I had already looked up the flights I wanted and prices on the VA web site as one-ways).

Its a general policy of mine to phone the call centre and book and say that the VA web site cannot do it. Because VA don't know what their web site can and cannot do they have no choice but to beleive me and waive booking assistance fees. If i get any push back or attempt to charge booking fees I just use the HUCA method. There is no reason to pay for booking assistance fees for multi city booking with VA.

had to google it, but I get it now. yes the HUCA method does help in all number of situations

I know it has already been mentioned by why not have a gift voucher or 2 lying around for that reason?

I purchased a $900 gift voucher in September to make some bookings and still have $600 balance and will pay a credit card surcharge only for the last booking using the gift voucher.
