There’s this page from MU: Prepaid Excess Baggage - China Eastern Airlines

But that’s in the basis you already have a booking. If you ‘view product details’ it still asks you to log in to find the prices.

This page (right at the end) details prices for excess baggage at the airport: China Eastern Airlines

But that’s the airport prices, so presumably cheaper if you buy in line in advance. Looks like CNY800 for flights between China and HKG, 1000 to Europe and Japan, 1100 to australia and 1300 to USA. So expect something less than that?

Thanks @MEL_Traveller its very hard to find the pricing online. I was going to call them yesterday but forgot and ended up booking through Hong Kong Airlines instead - cheaper tickets from the getgo but will have to fly out an evening earlier instead of a morning flight with MU.

HX extra prepaid bag on their booking page is 700HKD (~$138) so I think this is correct..

However, you can purchase the Main Economy instead of value/basic for an extra $39 and it'll automatically have 2 x 23kg worth of baggage

The MU system sucks..
