A PASSENGER campaign to stop images of their private parts being shown in airport scanners is a step closer to success with the passing of a US Bill limiting the use of the controversial devices.

These scanners should never have been allowed as the primary screening method. Why do I instantly think about invasion of privacy and worse still when the person coming through the scanner is a child. I am sure someone will find a way to save the images and distribute them....
