I want to raise a question about abusive posts and the standards that apply.
Earlier this year I was subjected to the following insult:
This was left unmoderated in a thread for 3 days (it's actually still on AFF if you look) until I replied. I don't find this to be an acceptable standard. Am I being too sensitive?
Within 30 minutes of my reply, I was asked to edit the post. The insult was changed to an implied insult and my replied was similarly changed to be in exactly. Based on previous advice from a moderator that implied insults are acceptable. Now my post was then deleted. The original insult remained in modified format until I kicked up a massive stink. I feel that there appeared to be 2 standards applied. So what is the standard? Why am I open to being called an arrogant pig or to being subjected to an implied insult, with moderation approval?
