Mixed class booking

A few years ago I booked a first/business class flight to London from Sydney with Qantas
Just wondering if that often comes up as a special ?

Now you say it I seem to remember something like this a while ago with QF.

Once or twice a year BA do this: pay for J and upgrade to F one way for no extra cost. Better to do it ex-LHR so you get access to the CCR.

After a quick Google I found a promotion in 2015 where QF offered this on the following sectors:

SYD/MEL - LAX
SYD - DFW
SYD/MEL - LHR
