Middle name missing from booking - code share flight

Hi there fellow travellers!
I booked a flight with Swiss Airlines flying Melbourne-Singapore-Munich-Venice. When booking via Swiss website I included my middle name but I have been told that, even though there is the option to add your middle name, Swiss don't actually add it to your ticket/booking.
My first flight on this journey is Melbourne to Singapore flying code share with Singapore Airlines. When I check my booking on the Singapore Airlines website my middle name is missing as Swiss didn't include it and I can't add it. I'm worried that I am going to have issues at check in in Melbourne as my passport includes my middle name. I contacted Singapore Airlines and they said the ticket will need to be changed to show my middle name but when I contacted Swiss they said they won't change my ticket as a middle name is not necessary for immigration purposes etc.
Anybody else been in a similar situation?
Thank you!

Welcome to AFF @Anywherebuthere .

This question comes up frequently and the answer has always been no, it doesn’t matter that your middle name is missing from your reservation.
Thank you @RooFlyer I wouldn't be worried with most airlines but Singapore seem to be (on paper at least) real sticklers about ticket/booking exactly matching passport.

Agreed. This is an example where you can safely ignore the airline saying it needs changing
Thanks @andye just hoping I don't get that one pedantic rep at check in!

When you say "on paper at least" do you mean in the sense of it seems, or did you find it on their website somewhere?. If you just called and they told you that it’s needed I’d be happy to ignore it based on experience because Singapore Airlines phone agents are often not very well trained. They'll just give you the safe and conservative answer even if it’s not required.

Given that your Online Check-in details (assuming you choose to complete OLCI) will match your PP details (DOB, First/Last Name, PP Expiry, etc), then it's clear that you are who you say you are and the ticket is yours.

I've had many flights with SQ, both commercial and redemption bookings, where my middle name is missing and the agents don't even blink an eye.

You'll be fine, @Anywherebuthere.

EDIT: To add to the above, I only depart from MEL on SQ so even better, as you'll be departing MEL for SIN. No problems at all!

@Cruiser Elite is far more experienced with SQ .
I submitted an enquiry via the Singapore Airlines website, explained the situation i.e. added my middle name at time of booking but Swiss don't actually include middle name on ticket/booking, is recorded as part of the Avanced Passenger Info only, and they (Singapore) replied to me, via email, that I would need to change my ticket to be the same as my name on my passport and the only way to do that would be via Swiss. But Swiss have told me (on the phone) that it is not a problem. My concern is I need to check in with Singapore Airlines, not Swiss, so even if it is not a problem for Swiss, is it going to be a problem for Singapore?

Thanks so much @MathNerd, feeling more reassured! Check in has always been the most stressful part of flying for me. I completed the advanced passenger info on the Swiss website. When I went to complete it on the Singapore website, I couldn't add a middle name.

I just came back from three flights on SQ last week…. none of them had my middle name. No one batted an eyelid. One ticket was issued directly through SQ’s website, the other two booked via partner frequent flyer programs.

If you call the airline they will invariably tell you that you need to get your tickets reissued, at great expense. But it’s simply not necessary.

Thanks so much for replying to this post @MEL_Traveller I understand this has become a FAQ so I appreciate you taking the time to reassure me with your own experience!
