Boss is flying from coughet via Singapore to Brisbane this week.

HKT-SIN is on Silkair, arriving T2
SIN-BNE is on EK, departing T1

As he will will have on checked bag, I'm looking to see if anyone has experience on whether he can thru-check his bag at coughet so that he can stay airside in Changi during transit
Plenty of time (3 hours) to do the transfer but staying airside and having bag checked through to BNE will mean he can enjoy the lounge before the EK departure.

MI & EK have an interlining agreement, and I have seen a post on FT where someone was able to thru check luggage on separate tickets with MI and another airline.

Any thoughts on this?

As I have posted in other thread.

No need to worry about checking luggage through. Head to Transfer C in SIN with passport and luggage tags and they will manually tag luggage through to BNE and issue boarding pass. Then head upstairs to lounge.

Thanks JohnK, apologies for the cross post.

In the end, Silkair staff were helpful and the baggage was checked through from coughet, even thought the onward EK boarding pass couldn't be issued until he landed in SIN (Just got his BP now)

Good to know for future if anyone has the same question - even on separate tickets, MI honour the interline agreement and checked through the bags
