Note sure where this would belong but may be of interest to some...

Last night i dined at Mezza9 at the Hyatt Singapore, and i was very impressed. A more casual approach to a fancy restaurant, aiming mainly to the USA/EU/AUS expat crowd it has some fantastic seafood and steaks !

Starters: Something off there Christmas menu, some preserved salmon with a salad and balsamic and dill dressing, very tasty but a small serve for a $23++
The Mozzarella and Tomato Salad as well as the Greek salads are excellent !

My desired cut of dead cow was unavailable when i ordered so i selected an Australian sirloin that was grass fed dry aged (Very good and prepared as i like it, what a good steak should be), with a butter veggies as a side, somebody else ordered mushrooms that were to die for ! $78++ (14oz, i was hungry)and 10++ for sides.
Other had seafood that looked great (Dont eat so much seafood myself)

Had only water and a single bottle of Bollinger Special Cuvee NV which at $165 is not cheap but very enjoyable, a huge wine and sparkling list is available starting at about $130 a bottle for NV's int he sparking range.

Total budget approx $200/pp, some drinks, couple of snacks, starters and main, no desert.

Singapore Restaurants: mezza9, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Singapore

Final comments: Very good quality, expat type crowd or well of Singaporeans, casual and not quiet and not load open dining room, good for groups of friends.
Sorry no photos, i forgot.

Hey Even,

Just thought i'd pipe-up and join you in praising Mezza9.
We've only had dinner there once and it was great (both had the fillet steak!).

Also to say the time we really love it is for sunday brunch (on every Sunday) which has all inclusive free-pour (proper) champagne... and is paired with amazing selection of buffets. Its much cheaper than the dinner too.. its our must do whenever we go to Singapore.

Not sure if your still there tommorrow but if your into brunches check it out!

I more or less live here :) But i am rather a fan of brunches on sundays, i also dont mind the brunch at Paulaner which has an all inclusive buffet at reasonable prices.
Paulaner Brauhaus Singapore

But for good German food i more rate Brotzeit, With Vivocity the better for a dinner but the Raffles city one a good place for dinner before say a Wednesday night Insomnia drinks
Brotzeit | German Bier Bar & Restaurant

I also like another place at Vivocity called 'wood'.
And you cant go past the different Brazillian Churrasccaria like Carnivore but there is a better one i think at riverside point in robertson quay.
