Membership status issue

I have been a Gold member since January via the Europcar partnership. I have received my card 2 weeks ago after my first stay and the expiry date is 04/14. Yesterday when I logged in my membership was downgraded to Classic. I have contacted Accor and here is the response, (hopeless if you ask me): We have well received your e-mail dated 3 June 2013 and we thank you for the time taken writing to us.

The Le Club Accorhotels Program assigns four possible status levels based on the number of nights stayed or on the number of points earned over a twelve (12) month period (365 days).

Status levels are defined are as follows:

Le Club Accorhotels Silver: From 10 nights or 2,500 points earned over 365 days

Le Club Accorhotels Gold: From 30 nights or 10,000 points earned over 365 days

Le Club Accorhotels Platinum: From 60 nights or 25,000 points earned over 365 days

As soon as you reach a higher level, you keep that status for a duration of twelve months (expiration at the end of the last month). At the end of this period, your status is recalculated based on your coughulated activity over the 365 consecutive days (number of points and number of nights).
 
Now, I didn't ask him to explain how status levels work, all I asked was why I have been downgraded after 2 months! Clearly there is an issue that need to be resolved but I think this is going to take a very long time!
 
How many night have you stayed / points earned ?
I had my first stay as a (complementary) Plat last week.
However they have sent me an email saying I need more night to retain status
 
Well my status renewal date is April next year so I don't think it matters how many nights I have stayed in the last 3 months. or does it? This should only be assessed on the date of renewal?
