I've just had a call about a friend that has become very ill while travelling in the Phillipines and so I need to get to Cebu in a hurry from Melbourne to help ensure that she gets good medical care. Unfortunately I'm not across the many various airlines that fly to that part of the world as I normally fly QF and am not usually going there - can someone suggest a good website for me to look at that covers the various airlines that go that way? Any help would be very appreciated!

Normally I'd suggest Google Flights but given your inexperience I suggest Expedia or Skyscanner.

Good luck, I hope it goes well .

googleflights is a good starting point. 800am tomorrow morning - Phillipine airlines non-stop to Manila. 3 hours transit in Manila followed by flight to Cebu. Arrival 7.15pm. A five day fare will set you back $1653. Bookable on expedia. Also bookable direct with phillipine airlines, but beware there are many flight options for the connection MNL-CEB, you need to scroll right down for the shortest connection. It seem all fares can be changed against a fee (if you need to change your return). Not sure of the fees, so it might be worthwhile booking a higher fare for the return (the outbound is only available at the 'classic' level)

If your friend has travel insurance contact the company and see if you can be of assistance for your friend. If so they may organise the travel. A very long shot but one worth following up.

Hi Everyone,

Many thanks for the replies. It is looking like she is going to be aero-medical evac'd out of there back to Australia now as soon as it can be arranged - I'm just not sure yet where to - possibly Singapore.

Good luck to your friend we hope they make a full and speedy recovery.

I went to Cebu late last year. I flew QF to Hong Kong and then got a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Cebu. Worked pretty well. Timings might not suit your urgency, but check it out.
