I thought one of our local f1 experts might know about this:

The ticket page for the Melbourne GP has recently added a stand at the outside of turn 3 called Piquet Premium. It is one of the most expensive stands, but does not appear on the map. Is it a new stand entirely? Should I go for it or get one of the few seats left in Brabham (turn 1&2)?

Being a big f1 fan, I've sat in both brabham (outside turn 2) and jones (outside turn 1). Jones is better, but try for seats furthest upstream towards the start line otherwise you'll be opposite the gravel trap rather than the track.

Outside turn 3 is new and would be good cos the hairpin like turn sometimes causes kamikaze type dives up the inside which can be good viewing. Google the crash between wurz and coulthard (2007) to see what can happen.

Normally reserved only for corp boxes on turn 3 ( no access to others).

If I was going I'd prob consider it (but no guarantees it will be better than turn 1)! If you get the right seats in jones, then it's good viewing seeing the cars switch direction into t2.

Hope it aids your decision.
