Hi guys

Flying out on SQ228 in F next week and was wondering if the F lounge in Melbourne is anything special?

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Sydney F lounge last year, but haven't been able to see any reviews of the F lounge in Melbourne.

Do they have the same order on demand food options like Sydney? I remember having great satay and Peking duck before my F flight ex Sydney.

No its not. It's just a quiet room. I actually prefer the J side as at least it has some atmosphere. Definitely no restaurant

Thanks Smit0847, sounds like I'll have a nice lunch at Chin Chin instead of getting to the airport early. Disappointing to hear that Sydney have it better than Melbourne!

The MEL lounge is fine. It’s nothing special and has no views. But it’s a relaxing space to have a drink and (sometimes) a dumpling or two without being super crowded.

Desperately needs the new design to be rolled out, but there’s nothing that can be done about the lack of outside views right now. I think I even prefer it to the NZ lounge which does have views. Maybe I'm just strange

Regardless, all the international lounges in MEL are far below the standard of their SYD equivalents.

For lunch, here's my (uninvited!) two cents: I reckon Chin Chin is pretty overrated. Keep walking up the street to coughulus for a much shorter wait time and one of the best meals you can have in Melbourne.

Was in the Mel F lounge in November for the morning flight. Only 4 passengers (including myself) in F yet there ended up being about 12 passengers in the F lounge.

Seperate tables with white tablecloths nicely made up if you want to eat at a table. Food nothing special and champagne was Moet.

Chairs were comfortable.

Went next door to the J lounge and appeared to be full.

Nothing to get excited about, at all. Definitely No restaurant service. It is quiet, uncrowded with only average food and beverage. Reds and champagne do not compare with on board. If I was you I'd board as early as possible and settle in with the Krug. You can't beat their F service.

Solitaire PPS have access to F lounge regardless of class of service
