QF25 used to be a B747 from MEL to LAX via AKL, but recently (june 9th) they changed the MEL-AKL leg to a B737, with a change of plane (but still the same flight number) in AKL to a B747.

On that note I am annoyed at QF over the changes to QF25. I used to fly it all the time from MEL - AKL (last time was on the 9th June - the last B747 MEl - AKL run...) as it was an enjoyable flight and lets face it, it was a cheap way of flying both a B747 and experiencing a skybed for those of us who don't usually fly J.

ok thank you! i feel much better! so i have to get my luggage and recheck it?

Welcome to AFF dzinh!

It's only recently that QF25 became a service that changed aircraft at Auckland. Previously it was the same plane all the way through to LAX.

I believe you won't need to see your luggage until you reach LAX. The 'connnection' in AKL will be several hours though, and the plane AKL-LAX will be a 747-400. MEL-AKL will be a 737-400.

No, they will check it all the way through. Keep in mind though that you'll need to go through security again in AKL with the 100ml LAG rules, so don't buy duty free booze until after you've been through security in AKL...

ok i booked the return flight for 1800 at 2pm, i just check again and departing on the 2nd and returning on the 20th is 1050 dammit!!

thanks guys! :D

i dont know why qantas dont give the full details of the trip, like what time we will be arriving in auckland and what time it departs!

qantas havent even sent my eticket to my email yet!
