Man am I confused...for some reason have never flown to North America. And am considering a weeks business trip in October (Oct 14 to 21 approx) to Chicago. Have a $4000 airfare budget from the office, which I can top up to go business if I want.
Have silver status on Qantas but 10k for a J ticket seems absolutely insane (especially if I'm paying). United are cheaper but I hear they are pretty ordinary. I have enough points to upgrade from Y+ but obviously that's not guaranteed. Have never flown Y+ in fact. What do you think? Is it worth going QF just to retain Silver status? I doubt it. V Australia Y+ a reasonable option? I need 180 SCs in the next 14 days to get to gold, does anyone think it would be worth trying to get these? (Again, I doubt it).
