Hi all,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section - please feel free to move it to the Virgin Velocity section if necessary. I wasn't sure where it should go.

Anyway, here is the situation......

Looking to book MEL - LAX return on VA in J, on points for next year. Currently have enough points for hubby and I to book one way, but by the time the Velocity Reward seats gets released for May next year - we will not have enough points for our return journey. We will probably have enough points for the return journey by October (in J).

So.....

Is there any disadvantage to booking "one way" J rewards seats for us MEL - LAX when they are released in May, then booking the return journey when we have enough points ???

Can be a little flexible with the return dates - and would even go PE if we couldn't get J as they were already allocated.

Oh, and I am Platinum - if that makes any difference.

Any thoughts appreciated :)

Cheers,

Brooke

Is there a difference in points between a R/T booking and two one-ways?

2 x O/W same same 1 x R/T.

IMHO ALWAYS ALWAYS book 2 x O/W - so much easier if changes need to be made post ticket issue.
