Hi,
I am traveling MEL-DBX on QF9 on Sunday and am considering trying the MEL EK J lounge for a change. Is it worth a go?
Will they direct me to the QF lounge (as per my BKK experience recently)?

OHH Yes,
I like the EK J lounge in MEL. I have used it a number of times, as well as the QF Lounge. Of the two the EK is better in my opinion.

You can always try both lounges, and you might even be upgraded at the EK lounge. That happened to me on my SYD/DXB flight.

I was in the Mel F lounge for a while last week and left to go to the EK lounge.

I like the F lounge decor, but it didn't impress me as much as other AFF members are. Maybe a little too stark for me.

Not thrilled with EK's love of gold, but find it a more comfortable place with those big square ottomans.

Just to follow up, I did spend a fair bit of time at the EK lounge on Sunday afternoon (8th of Dec) as QF9 was delayed by 4 hours and sampled plenty of the champagne and enjoyed the view of the tarmac. Comments were made by the lounge host at entry that "Qantas should still honour the bill for your EK lounge visit - ha ha". Found that comment a little patronising to be honest! But the rest of the staff were very friendly and made my stay very enjoyable. BTW EK lounge opened at 3.30pm
