Looking at flying MEL-BOM in June. Is there any benefit in booking on SQ metal with a VA flight number at an extra cost $160 (15%)?
I have no status with SQ and silver with VA. By my calculations, return flights will earn 100 SC on VA. This will take me to 350 SC - looking at J reward flight to get to Gold before June 30.
It doesn't look like it's possible to upgrade with points as it's not a VA operated flight - is this correct? Flexi is ~$500 extra on VA. Flexi saver on SQ is about $300 extra.
I can transfer points from MR or Altitude to Kris Flyer in need.
Anything else I should look at?
