MEL Airport Trainline delayed

Depends where you are going.

When I lived at Bondi Junction, even when work gave me a cabcharge I stopped getting cabs to the airport. I once spent 90 minutes going from the airport to home on a Friday night. It's less than 30 minutes by train.

It wasn't about the money, the trains are just quicker. Quicker to the CBD too, usually.

Brisbane is debatable. Useful if going to the CBD, not so for most other places. But lots of people use it.

If I am on my own, I always use the Airtrain to BNE (cheap and quick), but if there is 2 or more of us, its UBER, same price more convenient

For SYD, BNE, and PER. The airport is pretty close to the cbd and travel time is usually as quick as the train. MEL is comparatively a lot further out so would benefit the most for a rail connection

Not that much further than BNE. 23Km vs 16Km. Driving is usually quicker than the train though, the train is rather slow as it does quite a dog leg north of the CBD to get to the airport. This is because they did the line on the cheap back in the day.

In terms of travel time, for SYD, train is at least twice as quick than driving to the CBD. Even now on a Saturday, T2/3 to Central, traffic is 21 minutes - but it's 10 minutes by train. Differences are even greater during the week with heavy traffic.

Have still never used the SYD or BNE train and most probably will never use the MEL one either. Even when doing day trips to Sydney for work I still prefer door to door service.
We must value time and cost very differently to each other.

Yeah, I get that it works for many I’m just not one of those.
It's funny how differently this works for each one of us.

Living in Sydney, I don't even want to have a car. I've build my life around train/metro lines and it works marvels for me. Easy, fast, low stress (except for when the system melts down). At the SYD airport, I love the convenience: direct connection terminal <-> station. I think my record from a domestic gate to a train is about 6-7 mins. I wish the trip from city/home to the gate was equally efficient... 😆

Yep Labour failed again!
Typical.... now relocating workers from project....
Lucky to be alive if it is ever completed....
As it to the corruption watchdog list of things to investigate and check off
