Meal changes for QF catering

Well it covers both sides of the coin. In some cases the passengers behave like animals, in other cases the food is utter tripe!

Personally I don't get on a 2 hour flight in the hope of getting a good meal, nor do I hope of eating well in a domestic QP where the food is also boring.

If I want a meal I will either cook, or go to a nice restaurant! The only exception is when flying Intl J, then I expect a good meal.
 
One issue for me is knowing what to expect so that I can be prepared. Fortunately, with a slight delay in the flight last night, I had time to try the item from Island Dining in the J Lounge, and had snacked on some of the items from the buffet selection, but thought I'd be getting some rice and meat etc. So it wasn't a big deal in this instance. Plus, while I was chatting with the FAs, they offered me another one.

In other cases for me, time with my clients takes precedence over spending time in the lounge, so I may not always have time to grab a snack/bite to eat/meal in the lounge prior to boarding evening flights, and in the majority of the cases when I'm flying in the evening, the Lounge is closed by the time I arrive, so arrivals access is not available for (proper?) dining after the flight. Once again, information allows me to be prepared. When I book the flight and it says 'Dinner', then I'm hoping for dinner. In my house at least, I don't consider a small quiche, as tasty as I found it, an adequate dinner. I'd probably expect at least some salad to be served with it, or perhaps a bread roll. Or otherwise, I'd be reaching for a honey sandwich afterwards anyway.

All my PER-KTA and return flights for dinner service (2 hr flight) have been a quiche or tortilla for the past 9 months or so.

It's always been cough. Alcohol has always been paid for, only soft drinks free.

Not having flown the route ... is there any difference in catering between QF mainline 737 and Qantaslink 717 flights PER-KTA? And is the latter of higher standard and/or inclusive of alcohol? I ask because we noted such a difference when flying PER-BME a while back.

Most of my flights are on QF mainline but a few have been on QF Link. There is no difference in service offered on the route. Both charge for alcohol and both offer a coughpy quiche more often than not!
