MCT at DOH Question

I'm booked on QR909 in First which is scheduled to arrive at DOH at 04:55 on a Wednesday.
I want to connect to QR 95 to ZRH (also in First) which is scheduled to depart at 08:30 on the Wednesday.
I have successfully booked QR95 for the Thursday as I get an error when selecting the Wednesday flight.
The Wednesday flight shows as available, both when I select Change Booking in MMB or I try to create a new dummy booking, however I get a "Generic error" when trying to confirm the flights.
Is this an MCT issue? I would have thought over 3hrs to transit QR>QR would be OK.
Another thing is that when I tried to change QR95 back 24 hours the points required reduced by 32000 and taxes by ~$5. Same flight, different day.
Dreading calling QF in case they cancel everything, which happened last time..

That connection time is easy.
Not an expert but I'm guessing a variation of "married segment" although in this case it's more of a forced marriage.
People have found it impossible to get AU-DOH-EU award flights on the One World Explorer thread

Shouldn't be an issue. BC you had to go through transit security which in J was always a breeze and moving within DOH is easy. Going F certainly not an issue.

Unless you really need to fly with the connection, personally I'd leave it. It would get changed, not be ticketed and QR will cancel it.

The Oryx hotel airside is nice, but for a full day you'd want to go into the city. You should get the First arrival service which makes immigration very pleasant.

Thanks, I think I'll go with your advice. I'm in no hurry to get to ZRH, a day here or there is no big deal.
I'll do a city tour and then a few hours in Al Safwa. Takes the stress of transit/late arrival etc out of the equation.
