Maximising Virgin Velocity Points

I am trying to build my balance of virgin frequent flyer points. Mainly I take short trips through work, often maximizing on day trips rather than staying overnight on trips lasting more than one day, however as most of my trips are short its taking a long time to make progress.

Does anybody know of any good bonus schemes or partner deals which will help me grow my balance quicker? My colleagues are getting suspicious of my frequent short trips!
