I'd appreciate suggestions from the brains trust regarding accommodation for 7 nights in Mauritius. Mrs V and I will be visiting family in JNB in July/Aug 2022 as part of a OWA and there's a proposal on the table for us all (4 adults and 2 grandkids who will be aged 18 months and 4 years) to spend a week in Mauritius.

The kids will be too young for a lot of activities so our preference would be for a 3 bedroom resort style villa in a tropical setting on the beach somewhere but it seems there's accommodation dotted around the whole coast.
Is there a preferred area of the island to stay with nearby restaurants, access to short activities and a beach suitable for kids etc?

I've read that it's common for there to be 5.00am muslim calls to prayer broadcast over loud speakers in some areas, so if anyone has personal experience of what areas to avoid in this regard, that would be helpful too.

Can't help with the accomodation , but I have quite enjoyed some of the calls to prayer here and there..... I guess there may be a limit tho….
