The booking in Hua Hin is for Saturday to Saturday but we're returning to Australia on the Friday and we will forfeit the 7th night. Plans have now changed and we can get there earlier on Friday so looking to change booking from Friday to Friday.

I have sent Marriott but interesting to hear any experiences.

Call them. I recently had to make big changes to bookings using 7night certificate bookings at last minute (4 days before the first booking was to start):

- add 1 extra night using points to an existing 7 night booking. Actual booking came from wifes MR account, but they spoke with hotel to merge it into existing 7 day booking out of my MR account.
- cancel 2 x 7 night bookings
- create new 7 night booking, which we only stayed 6 nights
- create new 7 night booking, which we only stayed 5 nights. Upon check in, somehow this got duplicated but all worked out in the end.

The rewards system is very strange when making changes to booking, but your best to call, and have patience. It will work out.

Agreed. I tried changing online and it wanted 180,000 points.

I sent Marriott customer care email and they forwarded my request to hotel. Received email from Hua Hin Marriott that I can make changes free of charge up until 3 days from arrival so requested to arrive 1 day earlier and use up all 7 nights.

Waiting confirmation.

Question re the travel package certificate expiry dates - do they have to be fully used (stay consumed) by the expiry, booked before expiry (for stay any time) or booked before expiry for a stay which must commence before expiry? Or something else?

data points for 7 night cert owner due to expire soon

I have managed to call up Marriott today to extended a 7 night cert that expire on 21 March 2020 . The cert now will expire in Jan 2021 .
