Margaret River Accommodation

Hi all,

We are off to Western Australia for the Christmas New Year for 12 Nights and have the Accommodation arranged except for 5 nights in Margaret River in late December.

Can any AFF members recommend a hotel in a good location, we are not beach fans and somewhere where you aren't a captured audience with bars and restaurants available locally.

Accor members but won't have much status after July and looking for good quality accommodation around the $300 per night cost but are flexible.

Don't think there is any branded hotel in Margaret river. There are some self contained modern apartments centrally located in Margaret River town itself - will post a link if I can find it.

The Ette and I are contemplating first visit to MR May 2024 so Accom search begins now.

Any input from the learned AFF congregation greatly appreciated - 2 grown ups / hotel or apt / budget not a prob / location close in to MR central a must - we will have car for transport - any other basic info reqd to formulate suggestions?

There are lots of accommodation options at MR.

The staff at the visitors centre are excellent. I would start with a telephone inquiry with them.

Yep lots of Accom opts in MR - BUT - I thought there might be some AFFers who know how I roll and hence might have a handle on suitable Accom - MR VC staff no chance - but tks for replying

My family and I regularly travel to MR from Perth.

I totally disagree with your opinion on the visitors centre staff - they locals are on all the ground, regularly are invited to inspect attractions & accommodation and are handling telephone and floor inquiries all the time.

Good luck with your trip - its an amazing place and the whole area is booming.

We stayed at an AirBnB, which was a 5 minute walk to the centre of town - we did a write up here Winterly Westerly Wanderings
Well worth it.
