Ok so i'm going to the US in September/October for 6 weeks.

We are doing a big trip with no real plans other than to see as much as we can.

I LOVE the program Man V Food and i'm a MASSIVE foodie (in the fan sense, not the overweight sense)

Has anyone ever seen a guide of where the hell he gets this kind of food?

Alternatively, has anyone seen a book like this? ie great food destinations? Ie if I was going the the UK i'd try for the Fat Duck (3 mths out ;))

Is there anywhere I just MUST eat in the US?

Cheers

French laundry.

Hooters is a must, just so you can say you've Ben there, I found that often some of the most unassuming little hell holes dished up some great tucker, both sit down and eat and grab and run type outlets. Winghouse and tilted kilt was pretty damn good food

Depends where you are going. If NYC then if you love seafood Le Bernadin is a must-lunch really is a bargain for a 3 hat michelin restaurant and the chef-Eric Ripert is nearly always there.
