Malaysia Airlines' website - like using an airline website from 1999!

OK this is partially a rant...but is it just me, or is the Malaysian Airlines website really, really terrible? Ignoring the fact that it looks like it was designed in the 90s, and much of the functionality (e.g. mileage calculator) is "in progress...

I recently signed up for Enrich (I had a recent KUL-MLE flight and have an upcoming SYD-KUL-SYD so figured I may as well), and after a few headaches with my password not working (had to call the help centre - at least they were helpful and quick), I managed to get in. I also asked the call centre to add my Enrich number to my SYD-KUL-SYD booking.

Then I'm looking down the list of options once logged into the Enrich site, and I can't see anything like "My bookings"? It seems you need to set up an entirely different account through the Malaysian Airlines website (nothing to do with the Enrich site), then add your booking via that (or just log in as a guest with your ref/name)? Is that right, or have I missed something? Seems a bit silly to me.

Either way, I created a separate account, added my booking (it found it no problems), but now when I click on "My Bookings" and click on my booking, it comes up with an almost empty screen (almost as cruel joke, the only text of any note on the page that loads is something like "Become an Enrich member now"... :D) Could this be because my booking was made via a TA?

THEN I try to claim miles from my KUL-MLE flight a few months ago. Despite them asking for a ridiculous amount of information for a flight on their own airline (date, flight number, location are all fine, but eTicket number and booking class are mandatory too!) the website gives a generic error.

Seriously...these guys better step up their game before joining OneWorld. This is woeful....

I had the same issues with the manage my booking section due to a TA made booking.

Yep, it's completely awful. Points posting is somewhat sporadic too, and damned if I can figure out how to redeem a flight with points! Not to mention the whole site crashing regularly and forcing browser restarts.

In a country full of IT professionals, surely 1 or 2 of them could rework the website!

I had the same issues with it a couple of years ago. I see nothing has changed lol. The good thing was I did receive all my points correctly in the end, although I had trouble trying to claim points on the web page as well an ended up calling them to get it sorted. It really irked me that the enrich page is completely separate and didn't seem to pick up any booking info.

Great airline to fly with though, IMHO, and that's the most important thing I guess

Most of the airline website relaunches in the last couple of years have resulted in awful websites, and MH is no different.

As for Enrich, I have never got that miles claiming tool to work.

I agree with Oz_mark on this.. Sinagporeair.com which used to be easy to use is a nightmare now. But then again, the airlines care little for thier websites as most frequent and/or premium passengers book thro a TA. Websites let the smarter travellers to hunt for bargains...make it hard to find and the airlines gain....my thinking.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've really struggled with the MAS site.

And, with the loss of the Adelaide call centre, calling is incredibly frustrating as well. On my couple of encounters, the very poor English of the call centre employee in KL made sorting things out almost impossible.

Yes, it does seem to have some sort of double logging in system........one for MH and one for Enrich. not the best sight i've ever used, but have been able to do redemption books twice in the last couple of months though, without any problems too. yes antiquated. LIKE them on Facebook, and put your problems to them there. they answer a lot faster, and they will often ask for a PM with details of problems. have seen that work with other friends issues with MH before.

Your generous. I would have said that it was more like from the 1980s written by a 14 yr old :D

I hate using their website and have all but given up!
