If you are planning a trip here, we are loving the Urso Hotel in Madrid. It had a great write up and well deserved. We have also booked the parador in Caceres thanks to the advice of a member here, and looking forward to that, after New Year in Salamanca, again recommended by a member. Thank you. This is a very useful site. The Renoir exhibition was terrific today and as a lot of the city was closed for Christmas, it filled in a few hours well. Off for a Christmas meal now that will hopefully be great. Christmas and holiday greetings.

I'm currently booked for the Hilton next year but may have to check out the Urso.

I'm really sorry I can't recall which member gave me the tip about paradores in Spain. But thank you! Two nights in Caceres was divine! And now we are having two nights in Merida in a former convent. Also fabulous accommodation. Very affordable, at least in winter, and a special experience. I'll need to find a former post to see who gave me this great tip-off.
