Got the reject letter today...
Geez they are tough cookies - dont know what I have done to P*ss them off.
Nobody else seems to have any trouble with me :(
As bad as it sounds, I hope at least that you got the rejection letter quickly so you can move on.
 
I just received my macquarie platinum. 3 Business days for approval then 2 for delivery of the card. Record speed.
 
Never had an experience like this before.

Applied Feb 4. Received card today - 43 days later!

Minimum spend now made.

Card in draw awaiting points.
Received card March 18.

Minimum spend made immediately.

Bonus points awarded 11/4/2019

Card now cancelled.

You can. But the option to do so is hidden in my view. You need to select select your card, then account details and then on the right hand side it should show 'close account'.

Maybe they just see prior history of credit card applications and decline as they know what we are all doing with the churn and burn :(

Unlikely.

On that basis I should be rejected everytime.
 
I think Dr Ralph was referring to Macquarie. He churns as much as anyone and still gets approved for Macquarie cards again and again.

Right! Sorry I have missed some of the context / history of this thread. Just seems whenever I get an update from it it tends to be Macquarie playing hardball.
 
I guess it comes down to how much you are pushing the limits of what credit you can get and other things.

Number of credit applications would be a factor they would probably consider but Dr Ralph’s experience would suggest that it’s not an automatic veto of applications.

Some institutions do seem to put more weight on number of recent applications than others though.

I think it's more about income/liabilities.
