Thousands of passengers were evacuated from Bedfordshire airport at 9.15am after baggage staff noticed the fluid leaking from a bag......

Just after 9.15 am an unknown substance was spilled in the baggage area of the airport,” said a Luton airport spokesman.
“As a result the area terminal was evacuated while authorities dealt with the substance.
“Check in was also suspended. There will be delays to flights but passengers should arrive as per normal.”
He later added: “The substance appears to be cleaning fluid.”

Once upon a time they would have simply fetched a mop and bucket and carried on.
