Hi fellow experienced travellers

I am about to travel to tahiti and has 3 hours stop over in Auckland airport.

I am with Marco Polo Gold (from Amex Charge offer).

I am flying with Tahiti Nui with my wife.

question being

1. Am I allowed to use the Qantas lounge being a oneworld Sapphire? (prob is i am not flying with one world partner. only 1 leg of the trip is operated by qantas)
2. Am I allowed to take my wife in for free?

do I have any other options? i am with priority pass but they don't seem to have presence in Auckland NZ.

thanks in advance

I presume you are flying economy. If you were Qantas FF Gold or Platinum status and your flight from AKL to PPT was on the Qantas codeshare QF3825 then you would get lounge access.

By the rules, since your status is (non QF) oneworld based then the metal should be oneworld as well.

If you are on QF3825 it may not hurt to pleasantly ask and you may indeed gain entry; however don't expect this and have a plan B if you are denied.

If you do gain entry you would surely be permitted a guest.

Thank you for all your help....

below rule is where i get confused

[SUP]***[/SUP] Marketed and operated means a flight operated by the same airline whose flight number appears on your ticket. Includes American Airlines® or British Airways operated flights with a 'QF' flight number on your ticke

I am travelling on Tahiti Nui - TN1402 from SYD to AKL, then TN102 from AKL to PPT. And yes, we are on economy...

I suppose TN102 shares with QF3825, but is it marketed and operated by Qantas? would they have the QF flight no. on my ticket?

sorry about all these questions....

In that case, you are unlikely to get Qantas business lounge access in neither Sydney nor Auckland.

Marketed refers to the Flight number, in this case your flights are marketed by Air Tahiti Nui (TN).

Operated refers to the actually carrier operating the flight (often referred to as "<airline name/code> Metal")

From Sydney your flight is operated by Qantas and from Auckland your flight is operated by Air Tahiti Nui.

i.e.:

SYD-AKL

QF141 is the Qantas marketed flight number on Qantas metal.
TN1402 is the Air Tahiti Nui marketed flight number on Qantas Metal.

AKL-PPT

QF3825 is the Qantas marketed flight number on Air Tahiti Nui Metal.
TB102 is the Air Tahiti Nui marketed flight number on Air Tahiti Nui Metal

thanks again serfty

i hope this is my last question ... ...

since I am with Air Tahiti Nui, would they print the share code QF3825 on my boarding pass?

i guess the question is more about whether it's an industry standard to print the sharecode flight no. on boarding pass. They sure appear on the flight info screen in the airport.

thx thx

Air Tahiti Nui have sold you the booking for "flights" that they market.

There is almost no chance of QF3825 appearing anywhere in relation to your travel.

Note the operating metal flight number generally appears on the BP, so QF140 would probably appear on your TN1402 flight BPs.

i c i c, thank you.

Now, i've called the lounge in AKL, and the lady said if i booked through QF, then i can use it. otherwise not.

but she asked me to give it a try when i am there, as someone might not understand the implication.

hahaha
