Hi All

I'm arriving LHR on QF1 P class (Terminal 3) and departing BA J class to AMS ( probably Terminal 5). Any idea of which lounges I can access on arrival and then departure? Would love a shower and some breakfast.

Transfer using Flight Connections directions to T5 and use the BA Galleries F Lounge. There are showers adjacent to the lounge.

EDIT: If you don't have OWE status you wil need to show your inbound BP for access

Thanks Princess Fiona

Don't have OWE status and ticket is s AAdvantage award. Does this make a difference?

And finally do I have to clear Immigration/Customs or will I be considered "in transit"

Many thanks

You will be in transit so no need to clear customs but changing terminals will require security screening (which can be very slow).

Your boarding pass is all you will need for lounge access. The fact you are on an award flight will not matter.

Oneworld 'class of service' lounge access rules allow long-haul F class passengers to use the F class lounge prior to the departure of a short-haul flight in either business or economy class. Award ticket, paid ticket, airline you got your ticket from - no difference.

You will clear immigration as you are arriving from DXB. As an F passenger you will be entitled to use Fast Track.

YMMV but if it was me I would not bother with arrivals access in this situation. I would get myself straight over to the next terminal, get through security etc and then shower/eat/relax in the lounge at the departing terminal.

So fully justifiable as on-topic, I am assuming a QFF WP arriving on a J (or F) ticket from Australia, to connect to a Star Alliance flight, has zero on-arrival lounge access options? I am sure the answer is no, but want to be sure.

Correct. It is where Priority Pass comes into its own. It offers access to the T2 arrives lounge and also, somewhat oddly, the executive lounge at The T5 Sofitel. (The showers are in the spa apparently.)

Thanks Tony. I will head across to the other terminal and see what Star Alliance lounge is available.

When I tried to use the Sofitel showers I was told I could not because they do not open until 0900...

If you are flying from the T5 B satellite gates go straight there to use the showers as there is usually instant access and often queues in the main terminal
