Wondering if I got something wrong here!

Flew SQ from JNB to SIN this week. Had the usual access to SQ lounges in SYD and SIN during the trip as part of Gold FF with VA.

Checked SQ lounge arrangements for JNB on their website and it said it was through SA Baobab Lounge.

Got an emphatic no to entry from the lounge guardian on the basis VA was not Star Alliance.

So - is it that there is no lounge access in JNB for VA FF flying on SQ? Seems an oddity.

notzac is 100% correct. As a VA SG/WP flying SQ, you only have access to SQ owned and operated lounges. Another good example is if you're flying SQ out of LAX, no access to the *A lounge in TBIT even though you would have access when flying VA.

Thanks all

The new chart on the website is much better than before - I originally looked it up before that was live.
