Hi

I'm travelling to BUD from SYD via SIN and FRA in July all in Y :(. SYD-SIN-FRA is on Qantas and then FRA-BUD is a Qantas codeshare on Malev metal (QF3979/MA521). I am a QC Lifetime member and QFF Gold, OW Sapphire. I have 4.5 hours in Frankfurt and can't quite work out which lounge I might be able to use. Does anyone know?
Thanks, FCF

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You will have access to the associated QP 2 hours before your flight.

I flew FRA-BUD a couple of years ago, and had access to a small lounge that Malev Business Class passengers had access to. It was not a Malev dedicated lounge, but just ask when you check-in and I am sure they will point you in the right direction. It had limited food and drink, but free Wifi and comfy chairs as I remember.

There are a few in Frankfurt to choose from, and QF refer to the Cathay lounge
Unless it's changed since February when I was there QF uses the JL lounge in FRA.

It's quite sub-standard food-wise, though the toilets and showers were quite nice. No WiFi but they provided a LAN cable for you to plug into your laptop if you wanted.

If you can find a different lounge I could imagine that you could only improve on it...

If you have not been to FRA before, I suggest the following...

1. After finding a lounge to use (the CX one is my choice), go exploring FRA airport! It has many restaurants, shops and even a casino to play around in!

It was the JL lounge I used. FRA Airport is supposed to be interesting, but the terminal where you depart with OW carriers is very sparse. If you can be bothered commuting between terminals then explore, but it's hardly worth the hassle.

Thanks everyone. I might give wandering around the airport a go before settling into a lounge. The JL lounge might be nice but they open too late (after 4pm) and MA don't even mention FRA on their website, so I might try out a couple of the others: CX and IB - I've got time - but based on past experience I probably won't bother with AA's AC.

Cheers,
FCF
