Hi

We have a booking in premium economy CBR - SIN - IST in March and return in May.

We are looking at our options should the coronavirus problem continue to escalate. We are not so much worried about getting sick as being involunarily quarrantined somewhere.

Rather than further stress Singapore Airlines call centres with questions, can anyone clarify the meaning of the fare basis code RT5AUR88?

I interpret this as meaning that we can change the flight dates for a fee of $140. Is this per booking, per passenger, per sector?????

Can we change the flight sectors?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I found a more readable version of the above text regarding changes for this fare type on Expert Flyer:

RT5AUR88 is the fare basis code. This is a Premium Economy sale fare, booked in R class.

From the fare rules, the ticket is non-refundable and cancellations are not permitted. However, you can make changes before departure to new flights in the same or a higher fare class for a penalty of $140 (per person, but covering the whole ticket) and you would also need to pay any fare difference. If you don't show up for your flight, you'll be treated as a "no-show" and will have to pay $260 to re-issue the ticket. The change fee is waived if you change to a new fare in business class.

TBH, in a paid fare (rather than an award where you’re scrambling to find other award seats)... I’d just sit back and wait.

If the virus is still causing problems at the time you are due to travel, the airline will allow you to cancel, change or refund free of charge. If there’s no issue, you you fly as normal.
