Just back from a road trip to Longreach to visit the QFM and the Stockmans' Hall of Fame.
As an advisory the aircraft tours are currently out of bounds due to construction of the protective roof structure. These are due to open again in April 2020. This is well noted on the QFM website. Check there for future opening confirmation.
It's still a worthwhile visit to the QFM. Certainly no crowds. Accommodation in town is plentiful.
The OAT of 43C may not suit everybody though.
