I'm flying to JFK from BKK in early January, and the flight duration is 17 hours 20 mins. I'm pretty sure this the longest flight I've ever taken.

Has anybody taken this flight, the SQ flight from SIN to EWR, which I believe is longer.

I've taken the TG JFK-BKK flight in business class on the A340-500. Quite comfortable but extremely boring, even with the AVOD. You will probably get to watch some movies you never dreamt of watching.

I flew back from the US via Europe last week, and ran out of movies I was interested in. I can't imagine that Thai will have changed that many in the meantime. The annoying thing is that with Thai's seats in business you can recline all that much and keep the table out, so watching DVD's on my laptop will be a problem.

I do have a couple of good books on the go, but I tend to fall asleep if I read while flying, but maybe that's the Cognac.

I've done EWR-SIN-EWR on the SQ 345 service - it's a loooooooong way, and I'm not a great fan of SQ's Business seats after that trip, although the scenery in the northern summer was really amazing.

18:38 EWR-SIN, and 18:12 (actual flying times) the other way.

JFK-NRT with AA is a very long journey, and not one that I really enjoy repeating time and time again. However, it is often very cheap to take as part of a trip to the US, so have done it twice before and will probably do it again...

I do believe that SIN-EWR is the longest commercial flight available though, with the BKK-JFK one being close behind.
