I have a pretty horrendous itinerary coming up early july.
I am flying from Coimbatore to Mumbai via King fisher, and arriving in Mumbai at 1425h on saturday. I then fly QF from Mumbai to Singapore the next day, leaving at 1000h. On way back to Adelaide (Sing-Mel-Adel)

I'm really not too sure what to do, where to stay etc. Apparently Mumbai airport doesn't have a luggage storing facility which would solve a few problems, nor do I feel like staying in the check in area for 20 hours either.

I have heard that its not easy to get into Mumbai city ever, and that there are no real pre-paid taxi's around. Not sure how to interpret that as there are lots of conflicting reports online on these 2 things.

From what I can tell, it will take about 1-1.5 hours to get into the city. Which means, I would have probably half a day and then I go to sleep...

Any ideas on a good place to stay in Mumbai? Is it better to stay in an airport hotel and taxi out of there to the city, or stay in the city, and taxi from the city back the airport in the morning.

Couldn't find much on the net, making me think that I am the one dumb one that has a silly itinerary.
It wasn't that good on the way to Coimbatore either.

Cheers
