Hello

I am seeking some guidance from those who frequent London to see which part of London I should be staying in.

Plan is for a conference at the ICC (Int'l Convention Centre) next year.

I am clueless where to start looking for some accommodation to meet both needs: sightseeing and going to the ICC *

Any advice on which areas to zoom in or better, which specific places to stay in would be most appreciated.

Many thanks

*: if the sightseeing (& weather) is nice, the ICC part could be ... ahem, discounted.

Hmm. I may be a local but I'm not the best advisor.

There is a cluster of hotels around Excel. The Emirates airline (cable car) connects you to the O2, however there isn't much around there. The cable car does give access to the jubilee tube which is a good tube line with plenty of hotels accessible.

Excel is on the DLR as well so accessible from many parts of the docklands area.

Hilton @ canary wharf should be less than 20 mins travel. There are other hotels in that area too.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks, Mal

I located the ICC on the map and using Booking.com to zoom in its surrounding hotels and apartments.

Been reading up on various places since the post

Some places have no A/C!

Gripes, only windows and fresh air in the middle of London
