Hey all, was wondering if anyone has attempted this before with any success.

I am off to ADL tomorrow morning for the weekend. My partner is based in MEL, and flying on JQ776 MEL-ADL departing at 0910.

I am flying CBR-MEL-ADL tomorrow morning, with my MEL-ADL flight being QF677 departing 0905. I'll be meeting my partner at Qantas Club at T1 at 8am and guesting him in as I am SG.

If I asked the staff at QP to put my partner on the same QF flight as I, given that we are both on carry on only and me having status, is there any chance my wish would be granted?

Cheers. :)

I doubt it. My partner and I were travelling on the same flight from DRW to ADL, and were then connecting to different flights from ADL to MEL (I was booked on the earlier QF 692 while he was on QF 694 leaving 40 minutes later). At DRW we asked QF about putting him on my flight and they did - but only because they were already "forward flowing" pax on later flights (can't remember if that is the correct term)...

Long answer JQ has nothing to QF (when it suites them).
JQ to QF in no different from VA to QF
But QF will take your credit card !

It never hurts to ask, but I strongly suspect the answer will be no. (Or worse, you'd be put on the JQ flight).
If nothing else, JQ is an LCC, and thus your partner would have paid LCC prices, where as you are QF and thus would have paid full service prices. So I strongly doubt that they would move your partner from an LCC to a full service carrier without asking for some $$$ for the fare difference.
