This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in Germany and the most disappointing. At checkin we were told we had been upgraded to an Executive room.It looked like the standard deluxe room on their website.when checking out i asked what was different about an executive room cf the deluxe room. Was told they were the same just on the 4th or 5th floor with a view of the park.Unfortunately we were on the third floor with a view of the buildings at the back.
As with all of the hotels the room we booked was descibed as-2 singles joined as a king.Unfortunately here they were not really joined.

Although this was furnished in modern style some things did not work well such as the shower-funky design but you ended up with water all over the bathroom floor. The TV though was good-

The next gripe was the service or lack thereof.Outside our door a light was flickering.Didnt worry us as we had the door closed. But reported it,staff would have passed it several times a day but nothing was done in our 3 days stay.Never had a turn down,no paper any day, bathroom amenities not replenished.1 bottle of water per day.
Cost E230.
The first night here it was raining and we couldnt find an open restaurant near by so we ate in.We were alone until about 5 minutes before we retired to our room. The restaurant was very good but expensive-

We shared the rack of lamb with gratinated potatoes and green veggies, carved at the table.the meat was exquisite-

With a bottle of pinot Grigio E114.However this was the best meal we had in Germany.A pity that the rest of the experience was not of the same quality.

Thanks for posting that up drron.

As you know, heading to Stuttgart in September, and agree, the hotels in Stuttgart seem quite expensive for what they are. Part of that no doubt is the EU being so strong vs the aussie rouble, but still, disappointing.

Looks like we will be avoiding LeM.

Was there any issues with the "car free zones" in your travels (did you have hire car or did you do all taxi / train)?

We hired a car.No problems at all with car free zones. The Old towns are usually car free but plenty of parking on the edge so no problems.Parking rates were mainly reasonable. Also though public transport is good with trains, trams and busses.
