LAX Transit - enough time?

Hi all

Arriving into LAX from Syd on VA1 at 630 and then departing for LAS on a Delta flight at 910. Everything on the same ticket. I've heard LAX is a bit of a nightmare. Are these times pushing it?? What happens if I miss the connection - do I get put on another flight? I was originally on a later flight to LAS but that was cancelled.

Should I be worried??

All on one ticket you will be fine. they will sort you out should you misconnect.

You've got plenty of time between the flights. 90 mins is the minimum I would recommend. If the connection is missed they will put you on a later flight (this happens to me every second time I visit the US).

Flight to LAS has changed to 1110 departure so all good now - apart from the 4.5hr wait at LAX with 2 kids!

Go for a walk and stretch the legs upstairs around the drop off area, always good when off a trans Pacific flight. Nothing like the smell of kerosene in the morning.

I took my mother over to the States a few years ago to visit her cousin in Texas. Decided to fly Air NZ because of a ripper deal on Premium Economy. She's got a bad back so we asked the FA to organise a wheelchair to collect her. Not only did they greet her in the plane, the attendant took her through customs via the pilots and aircrew line (along with us), over to collect baggage and out to a waiting town car that I had arranged. From landing to getting in the car was approximately 15 - 20 minutes. To cap it off, there is no charge for the service, but we of course gave the attendant a healthy tip (I think it was $15).

A screaming 1yo will also get you through customs in this line too haha ...I was surprised, grateful and relieved when we got through a lot quicker on both ends (MEL & LAX) because we had her with us.

Had the same, UA did an excellent job at LAX and SFO with wheel chair from one aircraft (in from Peru) to another and to the waiting limo.

And if it is not? Hubby has booked BNE-LAX for his next work trip in January. He normally books all the way through to PDX, but VA had a special on from BNE-LAX so he has booked this with VA and will book his Delta connection LAX-PDX-LAX directly. If he misses his connection -what happens?

(also -VA have said he can't check his bags all the way through like he normally does, which seems a bit odd to me )

He will likely have to stump up for a new ticket...

Linking doesnt mean they are on the same ticket; you are covered if they are on the same ticket.
