I see that the connector from Bradley to T4 has opened and the LAX terminal map suggests there is also a connector from T4 to T6.

I land in Bradley (QF15) and have a 5 hour layover till I leave from T6 (on another QFcode flight).

I assume I still clear customs first but can I move from the International terminal over to T6 without re-clearing security? My hope is I can use the Qantas Club till it is time to make the sojourn to the correct terminal. I'm wondering if I need to factor in security clearance time or just the big wander.

Thanks heaps

There are no "international" areas in US airports - you clear immigration & customs as soon as you arrive, and then you're in the terminal - even TBIT is like this. So yes, if you have Qantas lounge access you can use the TBIT lounges before your flights from other terminals.

(And yes, the connectors are air-side so you don't need to re-clear security).

The minute you clear customs and collect bags you are airside, so you have two options.

1. Leave TBIT and walk / take shuttle to T6, then go through security there.

2. Go back thru TBIT security, then over the connector, then tunnel to T6. Should enable you to use TBIT lounges in the middle (assuming your flight from T6 is with AA. Note if from Eagles Nest gates think there is still a shuttle from T4 as well which would save a wall)

I think you mean landside?

Addit info re AAEagle and T4/T6:

Will mean that going the other way and with OW interlining policy, AAEagle will send luggage to T6 and then longer to walk landside to TBIT to checkin for the transpacific QF services.

Assuming you already have your boarding pass for your flight out of LAX, as soon as you exit into landside arrivals in TBIT, turn right and head down the hall until you reach a recently opened security section which is apparently rather quiet - use that.

This will leave you airside (very close to the QF operated TBIT lounges). Yes, you can walk the elevated connector to T4 and then the tunnels to T5 and then to T6.

Why do you state T6? Are you on a Regional jetservice that leaves from G60x, or say, a flight to PHX (generally G61-G64)?

But the necessity of picking up checked luggage coming from international flights always puts you landside?

Yes, landside.

But it's not related to checked luggage - at LAX most¹ international arrivals end up landside after immigration and customs, checked luggage or not.

¹ Exceptions include those pre-cleared out of Canada.
